The Central Tibetan Administration declares 6 July 2025 to 5 July 2026 as the Year of Compassion to express our deepest gratitude to His Holiness the Dalai Lama for His tireless efforts in promoting basic human values through practice of compassion, fostering inter-religious harmony, preserving Tibetan culture and protecting the environment, and reviving ancient Indian wisdom of the Nalanda tradition.

The year celebrates His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 90th Birthday, highlighting His Holiness’ power of blessings in fulfilling our collective aspirations to enlighten those obscured by disturbing emotions, engulfed in the darkness of conflict and war, and to find peace and live a life with freedom and dignity for all.

The Year of Compassion events will take place world-wide including Dharamshala. The events will be hosted in the Tibetan settlements, community centers, and places of friends of Tibet and Tibet supporters.
